The instructions for programming are at the link below. Programming instructions start on page 26. Enjoy the scanner. Answered by wires - Sat Apr 5 23:41:38 2008 How to use a police scanner. Im going crazy, what am i doing wrong!? Q. I just bought a police scanner. I have a pro-164... I thought that this wasnt hard, I dont have a CLUE as to how I even get started... I cannot pick up anything on my scanner, its like Im doing something wrong... Right now, im pressing tune... then typing in my frequency number from it is 155.20500 and it just gives static like EVERY other frequency I put in... all I can listen to is the pre-programmed weather station. How do these things work, and what am I doing wrong. I live in Lake Charles, and I thought you could listen to the fire, police, emergency radios... so far noothing i have, I have tried every frequency close to it... I just hear static. the only voice I hear is from the pre programmed weather station Asked by implicitProdigy - Wed Feb 11 21:52:25 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments I have a Uniden BC350C scanner and would like to have frequencies for Indianapolis Fire Department, IMPD, and?
Q. State Police. I live on the Southside of Indianapolis. So, I would prefer to have the above frequencies for the Southside. I have tried www.scannermaster, www.radioreference, and www.cityfreq.com. I know that Uniden can program this for me, but I really do not want to pay $35 + and I know Radio Shack can do it for free, but I have read many complaints where they have not done this correctly.
