Balloon (Aircraft)

A balloon is a type of aircraft that remains aloft due to its buoyancy. A balloon travels by moving with the wind. It is distinct from an airship, which is a buoyant aircraft that can be propelled through the air in a controlled manner.

The "basket" or capsule that is suspended by cables beneath a balloon and carries people, animals, or automatic equipment (including cameras and telescopes, and flight-control mechanisms) may also be called the gondola.

Has the Obama administration lost its mind? Wants to block the suns rays with pollution particles?
Q. Obama may fire pollution particles into stratosphere to deflect sun's heat in desperate bid to tackle global warming President Barack Obama is considering a radical plan to tackle global warming by firing pollution particles into the stratosphere to deflect some of the sun s heat. The controversial experiment was touted yesterday as a possible last resort to help cool the Earth s air by the president s new science advisor John Holdren. It s got to be looked at. We don t have the luxury of taking any approach off the table, said Mr Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology. Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology, outlined the idea of shooting either sulphur dioxide particles,… [cont.]

A. Haha -- deflect some particles...and those that get through -- well they'll be trapped in the atmosphere b/c they can't get out...which is what Global Warming is based upon...green house gases trapping heat. It'll be a double-sided mirror/barrier -- reflecting both ways. ___ Edit: Just when I thought I couldn't laugh any harder... "Yeah, lets examine the problem of gravity...by watching Road runner cartoons." lmao.

do you think people shud be more careful were they let balloon go or shud they be banned?
Q. A major rescue operation launched after reports of a light aircraft crashing into the sea turned out to be a false alarm sparked by two inflatable penguin balloons, coastguards have revealed. Three coastguard teams, a lifeboat and helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth were dispatched after a member of the public reported a possible microlight crash off Rosehearty in Aberdeenshire. But when the lifeboat arrived at the scene all the crew found were the 3ft, deflated, penguin balloons.

A. I think it should be banned, for it can cause stomach trouble, if you breathe in helium from the balloon. It can also cause danger from the story you have wrote. It can also cause a waste of time [for rescuing] from the story. Balloons should be banned/kept for indoors only. This is a very interesting question I've heard so far.
